Q1: How to use the online securities trading service offered by CIS Securities Asset Management Ltd?

Ans :

The technologies used for our online securities trading include Internet and JAVA. No special software is required. Customers only need internet browser such as Microsoft Office Internet Explorer 6.0, and to install Java VM . 

Q2: Is there any minimum transaction size for the use of the CIS online securities trading services?

Ans :

We do not set any minimum transaction size as long as customers have sufficient stock position or cash flow in the account. Only the minimum number of shares trading has to be in accordance with the share market requirements (one board lot). Customers are levied 0.16% on the amount of each trading as commission fee. Other fees such as stamp duty and transaction duty will be charged according to the regulations. 

Q3: How are customers’ accounts protected in CIS online trading services?

Ans :

CIS security website has applied SSL 128 bit(Secure Socket Layer) technology. Besides, our company is well equipped with Firewall Protection Technology so as to ensure stabilization and security of online trading services. 

Q4: What are the edges of CIS online trading services over other investment companies?

Ans :

CIS online trading services do not restricted by any time and geographical constraints. Customers can make their investment decision anytime, anywhere. All you need is a computer which meets the system requirements. Aside from securities trading, information such as securities real time quotes, amount of shares balance and order records can all be shown. 

Q5: How are customers charged for using CIS Online trading services?

Q6: What are the latest changes in stock prices after the reduction of minimum trading spreads?

Web Trade FAQ

Q1: After Login the message “Connecting to server, please wait…” appear and no further response.

Ans :

Click Start -> All program -> Accessory -> Command Prompt

Type the following command:
Ping 202.153.111.144
If loss appear means the connection to the web trade system has problem.

Or type in:
telnet 202.153.111.144 18000
If black screen appear then the connection is ok.

Outgoing port 18000 and 18003 must be released for successful login of web trade. 

Q2: How to solve the unreadable character problem?

Ans :

For Window :

Start -> Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region -> Region and Language -> Format -> change the system format “Chinese (Traditional, Hong Kong S.A.R)” -> Administrative -> change the Language for non-Unicode programs “Chinese (Traditional, Hong Kong S.A.R)” -> Restart the PC

Q3: The trade information window cannot display after login, why?

Ans :

Please Download the latest version of JAVA VM.

If you are still unable to view it after installation, you can try to download another browser to view it and
Re-login after installation.

Q4: Unable to connect to server and unable to upgrade after the trade software is installed.

Ans :

If you are using Window 7/10, please change the installation path to C:\Ayers instead of the default one and continue the installation. 

General Enquiries

Q1: What should I do if I lost my password or my password becomes invalid?

Ans :

Customer should call our customer service hotline at ( +852 3743 1088 ). We will reply to customers with satisfactory solutions. 

Q2: Apart form the online trading system, Can I trade stocks by email?

Ans :

You cannot. In fact, email is not a secure order placement medium. You should trade stocks via the online trading system. 

Q3: What should I do if my computer suddenly hangs/powers off when I am placing orders via the onlin

Ans :

To avoid duplication of order, you should contact our dealer at ( +852 3743 1088 ) to confirm the updated orders status. 

Account Opening

Q1: Are there any charges for opening a securities trading account?

Ans :

Opening a securities trading account is free of charge. For other charges, please refer to “Fees & Charges” for details. 

Q2: How can I open a securities trading account on the internet?

Ans :

You can go to our office for opening a securities trading account. Of course, a more convenient way is to open the account on our website, please follow below steps, 

 *Simply click the “Apply”-> "Account"  button of the website navigation bar  

Q3: When can I use the online securities trading services?

Ans :

After signing the relevant account opening forms and furnishing us all necessary supporting documents, we will send customers the online trading password by email within three working days. Upon receipt of the password, customers can immediately start using the account. 

About Trading and Settlement

Q1: What should I do if I could not receive the notification email?

Ans :

Due to unpredictable internet traffic or other factors, email transmission may be delayed. For enquirers, customers can check their email account on the online trading system, or call us at ( +852 3743 1088 ) to check for the order status. 

Q2: What kinds of order can I place through the online trading system?

Ans :

Customers can place “Day Order” anytime during the trading day. Please note order will be cancelled after market close if not executed. 

Q3: Can I place buy order if my account does not have sufficient funds at the time of order placing?

Ans :

If you do not have sufficient funds in the account, we shall not be obligated to execute your buy order. However, if we approve the buy order, you are required to deposit sufficient funds into the account before the settlement date. Customers have also to be wary of overdue interest caused by overdue settlement. 

Q4: How do I know if my buy order has been received by your online trading system?

Ans :

After receiving your order, we will send you an email with a unique order number immediately. Once your order has been executed, terminated or rejected, an email notification will also be sent to you. 

Q5: Can I check, amend, or cancel my placed orders through the online trading system?

Ans :

You can amend or cancel any order which has not been executed. Moreover, you can check your transaction history up to the previous 40 days. 

Q6: Can I sell odd-lot through online trading system?

Ans :

No. Please contact customer hotline ( +852 3743 1088 ) for this arrangement. 

Q7: Can I sell the stock bought on the same day through the online trading system?

Ans :

Yes. You can sell the stock bought on the same day. 

Q8: Can I trade physical share through the online trading system?

Ans :

Yes. You can do so once you deposit the physical share into the account and the deposit is settled. 

Q9: What are the procedures for stock trading settlement?

Ans :

All securities transactions will be settled on the second trading day after the trade day( T+2 Settlement), and will directly debit/credit to your settlement account. For any securities purchase, please do reserve sufficient fund in your settlement account (including securities expense and administration fee) before 9:30a.m. on T+2 day. For any securities sale, the amount of fund received after deducting relevant costs will be shown in your settlement account on T+2 day.  

Q10: Will I receive any confirmation letter regarding securities trade?

Ans :

After executing your trade order, we will send you a daily statement to confirm your trade record. Apart from that, you will receive a monthly statement for record. 

Q11: If I have securities deposited with other banks or securities firms under the Central Clearing

Ans :

Yes, you can transfer the securities electronically to your account with us. You should complete a “Investor/Securities Settlement Instruction” and return it to us. 

Technical Questions

Q1: Which version of browser should I use to access the online trading system?

Ans :

You are recommended to use a secure-cable browser with 128-bit Security Socket Layer(SSL) encryption technology. 

Q2: What can I do if the internet connection seems slow?

Ans :

There are many factors affecting the internet connection. For example, your computer hardware configuration, phone line quality and internet traffic, etc. In order to achieve a better internet connection, we suggest customers use broad band internet, and your PC hardware configuration should be at least Pentium III, 256MP RAM and 30G storage capacity. 

Q3: How does the online trading system protect my personal information?

Ans :

We provide several security measures including

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 128-bit strong encryption 

Q4: Why are there many unreadable characters on your website?

 Ans :

For English based operation system, the browser may not display Chinese characters properly. You can install some programs specially designed to view Chinese characters. (e.g. Dr.Eye). 

Q5: Why does the browser always show “ The Page cannot be displayed” or “Unable to locate the server

Ans :

You should check the URL for spelling errors and try again. If the situation persists, the web server that you are trying to connect could be down. Try again later or contact your internet service provider for assistance.
